The robotic palletizing system is designed to automate the process of moving boxes from a roller conveyor and placing them on a pallet, forming a pallet with finished products.
Before collecting a pallet, the operator prepares the pallet and feeds it into the stacking area. Confirms the operation of the pallet’s readiness for automatic stacking of boxes on the operator’s screen. The light and sound column lights up green, the algorithm of automatic pallet formation begins. The palletizing robot moves boxes from the conveyor line section and places them on the pallet, according to the current stacking schemes.
The boxes are moved using a vacuum gripper installed on the robot. Cardboard boxes are transferred to the palletizing area using conveyors. It is assumed that 2 to 4 boxes can be moved per cycle.
To ensure the safety of operators and forklift drivers, the work area is equipped with access control devices (safety scanners, light barriers, mesh barriers).
Palletizing robot. Advantages of the solution
- Reduction of the human factor — the work of collaborative robots eliminates errors arising from the human factor, each robot easily replaces 4 people to work in the stacking area, they do not get sick and are not distracted by anything;
- Freeing up the workforce — frees up employees to perform more important tasks;
- Increasing speed — a clear reduction in the time of the stacking process;
- Round-the-clock operation of robots — a round-the-clock work process is an absolute advantage of collaborative robots over humans;
- Quick readjustment of robots — the ability to reconfigure palletizing robots for another type of boxes, lines and stacking schemes, their maintenance and operation do not require special skills (exactly one hour is required to set up and prepare the robot to perform the first task);
- Space saving short payback period — the payback period is 6.5 months;
- Less wear of the robot — achieved through software calculation of the optimal trajectory of movement when stacking pallets. This reduces the load on the robot joints and achieves less wear on the equipment, as well as reduces the time it takes to complete a pallet;
- Simple integration – the palletizer can be integrated into any production process thanks to the built-in PLC. This ensures feedback with conveyor lines, maintains the order of arrival of pallets in the case of several lines, etc.
